One career I think would be incredibly interesting and different is to be the owner of a campsite. I have been looking into a mixture of different Careers recently, and this is a job I wish to pay a bit more thought to, and spend some time discussing. Hopefully, if anyone is currently thinking about, or trying to think of, New careers that they can start on, then this article will give them some idea about what is required to manage a camp site, and whether or not it is something they would be sincerely interested in. There is a lot to consider if you opted to make a New career out of this, so let’s get straight into it and look at what needs to be considered!
First of all, and this has an impact on all Careers in one way or another, but it is even more so important when it comes to managing a campsite, is location. Now of course location is significant for many Careers, but it is particularly important for camping as you must invite people to your campsite, so they will want to stay and perhaps return to holiday there again. Now you must bear in mind if you take on this as a New career, it will end up more like a way of life than just a New career. Most individuals who own campsites actually stay on them, so they can keep an eye on things at all times, and ensure that things are kept under control and maintained. Campsites are of course typically in very rural, quiet areas, so one thing you must ask yourself is can you live in an area such as that, or will being away from the commotion of town/city life be too much for you?
Now managing a campsite includes lots of different tasks. Depending on the size of the campsite you run, you could need to employ more people to help in the day to day operations of the campsite. There are various jobs to be taken care of – for some campsites is landscaping, although this does not apply to all campsites, some people just aim for the more natural look. A lot of campsites have a public toilet and shower area which will have to be cleaned on a regular basis. Some campsites can even have a little shop for individuals to purchase vital goods and food from, which of course will need to be staffed. Then of course there is the administration side of things – operating your own campsite will really be like operating your own business, and as such there will be paperwork that comes as standard. You will also need to deal with bookings and such if you are operating a large and popular campsite.
So as you can see, there are a great many things to be researched when deciding to start up a New career operating your own campsite. For some individuals there will be other New careers out there more appropriate for them – for some people the demands of operating a campsite will basically be too much. However, there will of course be individuals out there who will relish the challenge, and really get to benefit from a career operating their own campsite.
