Self employed Careers are fairly common in our society, many people choose to build their own businesses and pass them on through the generations. No doubt your pay is significantly effected by the amount of work you dedicate, but I mostly liked the idea of being allowed to lie in bed in a morning or choose my days off. It also meant that when I’m feeling lazy, I can split the day up, possibly doing a couple hours in the morning, take a break and then finish the work in the evening. The freedom was the main thing I was searching for and as a massive bonus for me, once proficient at the work, unlike a typical job, if you complete the work without delay, you’d be done for the day, no sitting around in an office picking up someone else’s work. If I become good at the job, I could shrink my 8 hour day into possibly 5 or 6 hours, I have never been in agreement of an 8 hour working day as I think it is too exhausting and leaves you with very little free time, so this is a big benefit for me.

Certainly working from home isn’t lacking its negatives and for anybody thinking about these Career ideas I would advise that they seriously consider the following. When starting these New careers, question yourself, do you have the willpower to do the work unsupervised? To be entirely honest, I struggle terribly with this, as there are distractions everywhere in the home. Subconsciously I realise that I’m not being made to do work, it’s not like a normal job where you have to remain there 8 solid hours and can only go after that time, I have the freedom to do anything I desire. It is very easy just to click on my web browser and waste an hour on the internet, by which time I am not in the frame of mind to work and the day ends up a meaningless use of time. That equates to money lost and is the largest drawback of home employment. If you wish to try these Careers, you require a strong will and if at all possible a quiet place where you can cut yourself off from any distractions.
